HISTORY OF MALUCO STUDIOS & ELAMINTAL
Maluco Studios is the brainchild of Anesti Vega, a digital media producer/strategist turned ocean scientist. It started as an independent narrative film company (elamintal was it’s earliest iteration) that produced a number of award-winning action and martial arts films across the world. This included achievements like Best Film and/or Best Choreography at festivals and events including the International Action Film Challenge, ActionFest, Sunscreen Film Festival, The National Film Challenge, The 48 Hour Film Challenge and more.
When Anesti moved to California in 2013, it was re-imagined as a multi-faceted digital media entity that partnered with progressive nonprofit NGO’s to provide services in video, photography, photo journalism/event coverage, web design, social media, and more. These partnerships have included 350.org, The Center for Biological Diversity, The Romero Institute, Indigenous Environmental Network/Indigenous Rising Media, International Indian Treaty Council, The California Teachers Alliance, Idle No More SF Bay, and countless more. We have served to document some of the most impactful and iconic gatherings in the last 10 years, including the People’s Climate March, The Refinery Corridor Healing Walks, Oakland Teacher’s Strike, and the Alcatraz Occupation Sunrise Gatherings.
Anesti has relocated back to Florida in 2020 to further his work in ocean science and exploration at the Florida Institute of Technology and takes on select clients on a case-by-case basis.
