Anesti Vega has very humble beginnings in the filmmaking industry. Not one to jump in head first, he first worked on local community film projects to get things started. These projects helped Anesti learn the ins and outs of the industry and helped build a foundation for success.
After multiple projects that he designed fight scenes for didn't turn out so well, Anesti took the time to analyze why and started emphasizing the importance of proper casting, cinematography and editing for these types of scenes. It fell on mostly deaf ears. In late 2008, Anesti took it upon himself to start producing and directing his own film projects and bought the king of indie cameras at the time, the Panasonic DVX-100B. He started to shoot experimental short films with different forms of action and cultural themes, to include a series of martial arts promo videos with his childhood friend and martial arts mentor, Marrese Crump, that went viral all over the internet with millions of hits on YouTube.
In 2010, Anesti pulled some of the most talented martial artists together to compete in that year's Action Film Challenge. The film was an action/adventure with a treasure hunting theme called A Spaniard's Tale and led to six awards including winning the national competition with Best Film. Later that year, the success grew with many recognitions, including being named Best Visual Artist by Creative Loafing Magazine. Since then, Anesti has had the opportunity to work on writing feature length scripts that have been picked up by major studios and the honor to work with some of his greatest inspirations and mentors in the genre. With this guidance, coupled with a keen eye for quality and innovation, Anesti Vega is on his way to being considered one of the greatest filmmakers in the martial arts genre of film.
